Hybrid Methods


By coupling two or several testing methods, the informational value of material parameters can be increased. For example, the combination of tensile test and optical testing methods, e.g. laser extensometry, allows measuring local deformations in a specimen. In combination with the acoustic emission analysis, damages inside the specimens can be detected.

Other descriptions for these methods are in-situ methods or sensor-based methods.
